The Public Benefit Company of the Municipality of Oropos, responsible for organizing and hosting the event and the Tourism Development Committee of the Municipality of Oropos as co-organizer, would like to announce the launch of the AKROPOLIS JET RAID 2018, OROPOS GREECE, from 3 to 10 June 2018, under the auspices of the Mayor Thomas Roussis and the Municipality of Oropos. The event honor and set under their auspicies the Ministry of Tourism and General Secretariat of Sports. In particular, the organization Jet Raid, for the eighth year, selects Greece as the country that will host this worldwide famous sporting event, bringing together the elite of the F1, F2 and F3 jet skiers, in an open sea challenge for excellence and endurance. Among famous Greek tourist destinations, Oropos was finally selected to host Akropolis Jet Raid 2018, in the picturesque Evoikos Gulf. As part of the event, athletes, who represent more than 30 countries, will have to conclude demanding racing routes, the starting point being Paralia Markopoulou Oropou, all around Evoikos and from Oropos for two days racing across the Aegean Sea to the Cyclades Islands Milos, Kythnos and Kimolos. This will be the big test since the crews could face a long distance race with unpredictable weather conditions and strict refueling penalties. The two previous years the event was hosted by the Municipalities of Volos, Almyros, Skiathos & Skopelos.
